Akut Smerte

Emergency Child. Help for Pain Patients.

Akut Smerte helps the clinician (eg the doctor or nurse) to quickly and safely convert between different doses of morphine preparations (opioids), both for the patient with acute pain and for the chronic pain patient. In addition, the application helps with pain scoring and recording of pain medical history (history) and contains a compendium with background knowledge of Akut Smerte treatment. Akut Smerte contains information regarding the treatment of adult patients.

Based on the patients' current opioid treatment, most of the opioids recorded in Denmark can be converted. The converter can also calculate indicative doses for the treatment of pain breakthrough (PN doses). The application is automatically transferred data from medicin.dk and is thus always updated with the latest trading names on opioids.

Akut Smerte is developed in the Anesthesia and Operations Clinic, the Main Orthocenter, Rigshospitalet by consultant Ole Mathiesen and project nurses Birgitte Kitter and Anja Geisler, Unit for Akut Smerte Treatment, as well as anesthetist Christian Svane and Michael Friis Tvede.
