You can unlock battle ships in High Seas Hero by completing various challenges and ranking up your profile. Once you reach a certain threshold, a new selection of ships is unlocked and becomes available for further customization. The first two ships will accompany you at Level 1-15+. They're not very good, as you can see by their stats, but they're good enough to get past those first few challenges.
